TEDxUniversityofAkron Salon and more …

If you remember, the Biomimicry Fellows helped to organize the very first TEDxUniversityofAkron Salon event with a Biomimicry theme at the Akron Art Museum back in April this year. Derek and I were speaking at that Salon event. It was a nerve-racking experience, where Murphy’s law performed to its best, anything can go wrong DID go wrong. However, those are the factors that were beyond my control. Did they affect my speech that day? Of course, they did. But overall, I’m satisfied with how I did, although there was definitely room for improvement. The video of my TEDx Talk was finally available on YouTube (embedded below). I’m going to add English transcript and Traditional Chinese translation subtitles for the video as I’m also a TED volunteer translator (hopefully, I’ll be able to get these done in a few weeks).

Another good news to share is that our crowdfunded research mentioned in the TEDx Talk was completed. We submitted the results to a scientific journal and got accepted. The research article should also be available online in the next few weeks. I’ll keep you all updated when that happens, be sure to visit GermiNature frequently!   🙂
